✝DonateJesusPRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026. This notice explains how DonateJesus, operated by an individual sole proprietor in British Columbia, handles personal information used to operate the digital monument.

Accountability and privacy contact

The operator of DonateJesus is responsible for privacy compliance and acts as its privacy officer. Privacy questions, access or correction requests, and complaints may be submitted through the Contact page.

Information collected

We process your display name or anonymous choice, contribution amount, selected country/state/city, optional Wall of Love message, payment references, report submissions, support communications, administrative audit history, and basic security data such as rate-limit identifiers. Card details are collected by Stripe and are not stored by DonateJesus.

Purposes and consent

Information is collected, used, and disclosed only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate, including processing and reconciling contributions, creating lights, calculating rankings, displaying approved public content, preventing abuse, moderating reports, providing support, maintaining security, complying with law, and keeping financial records. By submitting information for these purposes, you consent to that handling except where applicable law permits otherwise.

Public information

Your chosen name, geography, contribution amount, and approved message may appear publicly on the map, rankings, Wall of Love, and activity banner. Choose Anonymous if you do not want your name displayed. Administrators can hide public content without deleting required financial history.

Service providers and processing locations

Service providers include Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database and authentication, Stripe for payments, Resend for operational email, and the configured geocoding provider for location coordinates. Only selected geography—not donor identity or message—is sent for geocoding. Providers may process information outside British Columbia or Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of those locations.

Retention and security

Information is kept only as long as reasonably required for the identified purposes or legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, and security obligations. Public display content may be hidden earlier. Security controls include access restrictions, encryption in transit, signed webhooks, rate limits, audit logs, encrypted backups, and environment separation, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and complaints

You may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent where legally available, or request removal of public display content through the Contact page. Financial or security records may still be retained where required or permitted. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. If a privacy concern is not resolved, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
